2 New Priests in Medjugorje


According to the new organization of the members of the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province of the Assumption of Mary, two new priests came to Medjugorje: Fr. Miljenko Šteko and Fr. Danko Perutina.
Fr. Miljenko Šteko was born 1969 in Tomislavgrad. After the elementary and the secondary school, he entered into the Franciscan Order. After the Novitiate, he studied philosophy in Zagreb (Jesuit Faculty), theology in Bologna (Italy), post-graduate studies at the Franciscan Pontifical University Antonianum in Rome, and he obtained a doctorate in spirituality at the Pontifical University Teresianum also in Rome.
He was ordained a priest in 1996 in Frohnleiten (Austria). He served in Humac, Posušje and Zagreb. Within the Province, he was a Secretary for formation and studies, educator of the seminarians, novices and students of theology. During several years, he was the president of the Commission for formation and for studies at the Croatian Conference of Higer religious superiors, and member of other Councils and Commissions. In April 2007, he was elected a Vicar of the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province. Since August 2007, he is in Medjugorje as one of the chaplains.
Fr. Danko Perutina was born in 1970 in Sarajevo. After the elementary and the secondary school, he entered into the Franciscan Order in Herzegovina. After the Novitiate, he studied theology in Zagreb.
He was ordained a priest in 1999 in Norval (Canada). He served as chaplain and assistant of the Master of the seminarians in Humac from September 1999 to March 2001, as chaplain in Medjugorje from March 2001 to October 2002. from October 2002 to October 2005, he studied Mariology in Rome, when he post-graduated at the Pontifical Faculty of Theology Marianum with the theme: "The Virgin Mary in the intellectual and spiritual education". Assistant of the Novice master and master of postulants since June 2005, member of the Council for education and formation since August 2005, member of the Administration of the Community "Merciful Father" since May 2006, chaplain in Medjugorje since August 2007.
